Augustine Mulliner is given Buck U Uppo and it bucks him up. A timid man becomes as strong as elephant. He is in love with the vicar's daughter, Jane Brandon. He saves the Bishop from a dog and the Bishop says | Splendid fellow"!.
Finally he learns that the purpose of Buck U Uppo is to steel the nerves of elephants in India. When they see tigers, they gallop home ! Ha, Ha !
